The Halifax ship yard contract. This cannot be underestimated and will have an effect on everyone coming to Nova Scotia. A $30 Billion contract, over 25 years. If Irving Shipbuilding get this (announcement today 5pm AST) Halifax is on a different level. Fingers crossed everyone. 10k new jobs!!

The combat portion of the Federal shipbuilding contract, worth $25Billion, over 30 years, was yesterday awarded to Irving Shipbuilding in Halifax. Estimates vary but figures being talked about are: 8000-10000 new jobs per year in Halifax and the province. Extra revenue to the Provincial government of $650-800 million per year.
